Philip KITCHEN, research professor in the marketing department, has just been elected an honorary member of the Academia Europaea, economic and management sciences section.

Best paper award


The paper Exploring the Reverse Effects of Leader’s Humor from the Perceptual Congruence Perspective co-written by Philip KITCHEN received the best paper award from the Korean Academy of Leadership conference.

The Corporate and Marketing Communications conference that should have taken place in Grenada last year went ahead online in 2021. Any profits remaining after costs were deducted (1000 euros) were donated to an NGO (Banco de Alimentos de Granada). As organizer, Philip KITCHEN highlights that this was the first time excess funds had been utilized in this way. He plans to continue to interact with the communities or NGOs within the area where the conference is located and hopes this will become common practice in the future.


Elisabeth PAULET a été nommée à la tête du programme PhD pour les 3 prochaines années.

L'élargissement et l'intensification de la coopération internationale afin d'accroître la qualité et l'attractivité du programme seront une tâche importante de la nouvelle directrice.

La DAR envisage de proposer aux étudiants sélectionnés des contrats d'assistants d'enseignement supérieur ou de recherche et de les intégrer plus étroitement à notre communauté universitaire. Il est également envisagé d'élargir le portefeuille de programmes de recherche, par l'introduction d'un programme de doctorat en administration des affaires (DBA).


Félicitations à Clarice dont la thèse fait partie des 3 finalistes du prix de thèse AIMS 2021.

L'Association Internationale de Management Stratégique (AIMS) distingue chaque année le lauréat du prix de thèse « Management stratégique » et propose cette thèse pour le Prix FNEGE de la Meilleure Thèse en Management.

This workshop intends to provide publication advice from an editorial perspective. Phil Kitchen (Journal of Marketing Communications, European Journal of Marketing), David Wasieleski (Business and Society Review,  JBE) and Silvester Ivanaj (RIPCO) will present their journals, their positioning and future development. They will share tips on questions such as how to find a good fit with a journal, how to make a contribution, how to tell a good story, how to avoid pitfalls in the revision process, etc.

Matthew Hawkins received his Authorisation to Conduct Research

Matthew obtained his ACR from the REGARDS laboratory at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. He was supervised by Prof. Dominique Roux and his committee consisted of: Bernard Cova (Kedge), Nil Özçaglar-Toulouse (University of Lille), Joonas Rokka (EMLyon), Jeff Murray (University of Arkansas) and Sondès Zouaghi (Universités - IAE de Caen; NIMEC). His presentation was entitled “Consumer Identity Ingredients and the Consumer-Activity Relationship.”

Paul SHRIVASTAVA will lead a conference for the ICN faculty entitled "Research opportunities in the sustainability sciences and management" on Wednesday 10 March from 14:00 to 15:00.
Member of The Club of Rome, Dr. Paul SHRIVASTAVA is Chief Sustainability Officer at The Pennsylvania State University, Director of the Sustainability Institute, and Professor of Management. He conducts researches integrating arts and sciences for implementing Sustainable Development Goals, and leads the UNESCO Chair on this topic at the ICN Business School. He is an advisor to the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (Kyoto) and of the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability at Hiroshima University.

Most customers ‘happy’ with airlines’ handling of Covid-19 crisis

Professor Giuseppe Catenazzo of ICN Business School, said “Although two out of three respondents would have preferred to choose between a refund or a voucher following flight cancellation, the airlines’ reaction looked overall adequate. The clients’ relationship with airlines does not seem broken. This looks promising for airlines who are slowly redesigning their business in the months to come.


Nuno GUIMARÃES DA COSTA received his Authorisation to Conduct Research

Congratulations to Nuno GUIMARÃES DA COSTA who supported, under the direction of Géraldine SCHMIDT, his dissertation entitled "Towards more sustainable societies: Ethics and sustainability as foundations of an intended institutional change" on 3 November at the IAE Paris and obtained his Habilitation to Direct Research.


Clarice BERTIN, a new PhD professor at ICN

Clarice BERTIN, permanent professor in the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Department, successfully defended her doctoral thesis in Management Sciences, specializing in innovation and entrepreneurship, on November 23rd. Her thesis, carried out at the University of Strasbourg within the BETA laboratory (UMR CNRS 7522), was on "Driving factors for symbiotic collaborations between startups and large firms in open innovation ecosystems".


Elisabeth PAULET and Edina EBERHARDT-TOTH supervised Junmei Qi, a doctoral student at the University of Lorraine for 4 years. On 2020, December 1, she defended her thesis in Nancy entitled "Environmental management of bank loans granted to companies in Europe and China: three empirical investigations" and obtained her doctorate.


Sanvi AVOUYI-DOVI was the thesis director of Tristan JOURDE from the Dauphine doctoral school who successfully defended his thesis on "the long-term evolution of equity market movements" on 23rd November and obtained his doctoral degree. 


Nuno GUIMARÃES DA COSTA supervised Fairooz HAMDI who defended his thesis entitled "To Establish a Conceptual Framework around Communicative Leadership Contributing to Future Research and Development of Leaders" and obtained his doctorate on 2020, September 9.

KPU Summer School  |   Kyungpook National University in Korea invites international faculty to submit course proposals for a 3 week Summer School, from June 21 to July 9, 2021. Each visiting scholar will be required to teach 1 three-credit course (45 hours of class contact) over a period of 3 weeks, which is scheduled as 3-hours classes, 5 times a week.

Open Walk Event-based Experimentations

La chaire UNESCO « Art et science dans le cadre des Objectifs de Développement Durable » et le Groupe de Recherche sur les Espaces Collaboratifs (RGCS – OWEE) organisent , du 14 au 16 octobre et en partenariat avec le festival Les Imaginales (Épinal), une expédition d’apprentissage collaboratif (Open Walk Event-based Experimentations) sur le thème des "frontières et imaginaires du travail".

Les chercheurs vous proposent de les rejoindre pour cette expédition qui vous amènera à visiter le festival Les Imaginales à Épinal en allant à la rencontre d’artistes, de chercheurs et de passionnés. Cet événement sera l'occasion d'initier un ensemble de contributions (nouvelles, articles scientifiques ou journalistiques, …) dont la création se poursuivra en novembre dans le cadre de Trans-Generatives 2030.
